JSTS Champagne Rides - SEASON KICK OFF SUNDAY, APRIL 26, 2025
It's time to welcome in another riding season! And while we won't be providing actual champagne, we will be providing sandwiches, snacks and drinks to all participants after the rides.
Please register for the particular ride you are interested in by Friday, April 24 @ 8am. We will be using the total number of sign ups at that time to determine how much food to get. If you sign up then determine you can't make it please de-register (simply click on "Already Registered" and you will be prompted to cancel your registration).
Looking forward to a great turnout to kickoff the season!
This is an in-person meeting!
Advanced registration is required so we know how much pizza to order.
Meeting Agenda - May 20, 2026
AGENDA - To be announced
(REGISTRATION NOT OPEN YET)
Some of you may have been hitting the trails during the chilly months (when weren't covered in deep snow and ice), some of you may have been on the trainer or at the gym (hopefully conditions there have been favorable), and some of you may even have headed south to enjoy milder temperatures this winter. Then there are those of you that chose to take time off this winter. Regardless of your past activities (or lack thereof), it's time to plan a warm weather activity... specifically the JSTS Summer Tour of 2026, which is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17 thru Sunday, June 21. This year we will be returning to the Finger Lake Region of Upstate New York (our last visit was way back in 2018!), which is about a 4 hour drive from Monmouth County. Our home base will be in Ithaca, specifically the Best Western University Inn (same place we stayed at in 2018). This is a great chance to ride outside the borders of NJ without breaking the bank. While most other multi-day tours have fees simply to join the ride that run into the hundreds of dollars, the JSTS Summer Tour is still FREE! All you need to pay for is your lodging and meals (and you need to be a JSTS club member for insurance purposes). Ride lengths will likely range from approximately 30 to 100 miles (for varying riding levels) for up to 4 days of riding (Thu-Sun), and you are welcome to join for all or just some of the days. For those interested in riding all 4 days, the plan is to drive up on Wednesday afternoon/evening, June 17, ride on Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun, and then return home on Sunday afternoon/evening, June 21. Click here to view a tentative list of possible routes for each day (subject to updates as we get closer to the actual tour). We have secured a courtesy block of rooms at a special group rate (over 20% off the Flexible Rate!) that will be released no later than May 18. Since this is a "courtesy block", the hotel reserves the right to reduce or release a portion of the unused rooms prior to the cutoff date based on demand. This means that if people don't start booking rooms "soon" (whatever "soon" means), the rooms in the block may start to get released sooner than May 18. Don't miss your opportunity to join the highlight of our 2026 riding season. Register now and book your room today!!! If you don't have a roommate (and want one), just book a room and we can put you in contact with others that have registered and are also looking for a roommate. Cost for lodging averages out to $189/room/night (plus 13% tax). Assuming you share a room with someone else and stay all 4 nights, that's $378/person (+ tax). Remember, if you don't have a roommate (and want one), we can put you in contact with others in a similar situation. If you are not able to join us for all 4 nights, then here are the costs for the individual nights: Wednesday night is $99 (+tax); Thursday night is $159 (+ tax); Friday and Saturday nights are $249/night (+ tax). Once you REGISTER FOR THE TOUR (click <Register> on this webpage), you will receive a confirmation email with a link to book a room from our courtesy block. Don't delay... register and book your room today! VERY IMPORTANT - In the past, the majority of the members attending the JSTS Summer Tour were B/B+/A- riders, and that majority rode at a a B/B+ pace. However, the word is out about how great these tours are and now there is significant interest from the C/C+ riders as well. Everyone is encouraged to reach out to your cycling buddies to see who else is going to confirm that there will be other participants that ride your pace! Also, as a self-supported ride, there will be no official SAG available. Make sure you are prepared to perform basic repairs while on the road (like fixing a flat), as there won't be anyone riding around in a car to fix a flat for you… or, in the event of something more dire, cart you and your bike back to the hotel. If you do end up needing a lift back to the hotel (for whatever reason), you will have to wait for someone on the ride to offer to come back for you AFTER they get back to the hotel (or you can call an Uber). We’re looking forward to riding the hills of the Finger Lake Region... Come join us! JSTS Summer Tour Organizers, Barb Bennett and Robert Leitner
