How to Report a Pothole
Reporting a pothole is the first step to getting it filled. However, where the pothole is located determines which agency needs to be contacted. A great place to start is the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) website for "Public Problem Reporting". This website includes an interactive map which can help you determine the appropriate agency to contact.
If the pothole on a state highway, dial 1-800-POT-HOLE (1-800-768-4653). If the pothole is on a road that is not maintained NJDOT, then you need to contact the county or municipal jurisdiction rather than state jurisdiction.
If it is on a county road, please report it to the appropriate County Pothole Hotline.
And finally, if the pothole is on a municipal road, contact the town as listed in the table below. This table includes most townships where JSTS rides travel through. If you find that something is missing or incorrect, please contact us and we will make whatever updates are needed.
